The annual Marist Rugby Club Awards recognise the important contribution made by elite players, best and fairest, those who uphold the MRC values and alumni. Scroll down to read more about the 2023 award categories and recipients.

PHIL THOMSON AWARD – For Commitment and Service to Rugby

  • Presented to a boy in the U/16 age group who represents the finest qualities of the Club and values of the College. Demonstrates leadership on and off the field, has offered a significant contribution to the Junior Grades (u/10 through to u/16) in the Club and to rugby at the College in general. Has been involved in more than one facet of the game through coaching/refereeing/volunteering. Rugby abilities may or have been acknowledge at a higher level.

 SERVO FIDEM MEDAL – Recognises the Contribution to Marist Rugby by an Old Boy

  • Presented to an old boy of the College who represents the finest qualities and values of the Club and has significantly contribution to coaching.

OUTSTANDING STUDENT COACH AWARD

  • Awarded to a student coach of 2 or more years who represents the finest qualities and values of the Club.

ANTHONY RYAN MEMORIAL CUP – Representative Rugby Player of the Year

  • Awarded to a student who has represented at the ACT/Australian level over the past 12 months. They may have represented in both the 7’s and 15’s format and may have been nominated to a leadership position within a representative team. May have been acknowledgement of a team award (Best Player / Players player) during a tournament.

PAT KINNANE AWARD – Contribution to Rugby by a Junior School Student

  • Presented to a boy in the U/12 age group who represents the finest qualities of the Club demonstrating leadership qualities on and off the field. Significant contribution to the Junior Grades (u/10 through to u/12) in the Club and to rugby at the College in general. Rugby abilities may or have been acknowledge at a higher level.
