There is an expectation that all Marist Rugby families will contribute to hosting our Home Games. If everyone participates for just a couple of hours per season the load is shared fairly amongst the community and we can maximise the opportunity to fundraise for the club. Your Manager will liaise with the team to create a roster for our (approx) 4 – 6 annual Home Games and you will be asked to volunteer just a couple of hours at most over the season. You may be tasked with one of the following jobs:
Make your way over to the Canteen/Sausage Sizzle area and you will be asked to either prepare, cook, serve, stock or wash up depending on the time of day. There will be someone there to show you the ropes including price lists and how to use our easy tap and go payment facility. The canteen usually serves the standard footy treats including sausage sandwiches, egg and bacon rolls, water, soft drinks and lollies.
Field equipment such as line marking, flags etc needs to be pulled from storage and set up then packed away at the end of the day. Please find an MRC committee member (wearing a high vis ACTJRU vest) or approach parents that look like they know the ropes – there is always someone around to point you in the right direction.
Head over to the sheltered area where merchandise will be displayed and you will be given a price list and shown how to use our easy tap and go payment facility. There will also be a notebook to record names and contact details if people wish to be contacted if a size or product they are interested in is not available on the day.
